Annette McFarlane first studied horticulture in Melbourne, gaining initial practical experience in Australia before working in horticulture for a short period in New Zealand. She moved to her version of gardening paradise in Brisbane’s subtropical climate almost 30 years ago. This combined experience has given her a breadth of knowledge across both temperate and subtropical climates. Annette is currently a senior lecturer in horticulture at the Grovely TAFE Horticultural College in Brisbane. Radio listeners throughout south east Queensland regularly tune in to hear her words of wisdom each Saturday morning from 6am – 7am during Gardening Talkback on 612 ABC Radio. Annette contributes to a variety of publications and is currently a garden feature writer for Gardening Australia’s, The Organic Gardener, Burke’s Backyard Magazine, Your Garden and the Sunday Mail. Annette is the author of three titles. Her book, Organic Vegetable Gardening, has sold over 60,000 copies. Her most release, Successful Gardening in Warm Climates, is published by ABC Books and was launched at the Gardening Australia Expo in Brisbane in April this year. A recognised voice on weekend radio, there’s much more to Colin Campbell than greets the ear! Colin presents daily gardening segments on Radio 4BH, Brisbane and has been a garden presenter on television over the years. A Queensland presenter on ABC TV “Gardening Australia ” since its inception two decades ago, Colin also writes for the monthly magazine Gardening Australia. He has written Brisbane’s Courier Mail gardening column since January 1991 and has a daylily, hibiscus, cordyline and clivia named Colin Campbell in his honour.Colin is Patron of the: Hibiscus Society of Queensland; Queensland Herb Society; Brisbane Daylily Society; International Tropical Foliage and Garden Society; Buderim Garden Club; and an Honorary Member of the Maleny Garden Club and the Royal Horticultural Society (Qld). In case that isn't enough, Colin has his own business Colin Campbell Horticulture Pty.Ltd which keeps him busy too! You can hear Coling during his talk-back gardening programme on Radio 4BC every Saturday and Sunday (three hours each day) which he's been hosting for 26 years.

Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE, Toowoomba Horticulture teacher Brian Sams is a well-known media figure in and around South-east Queensland. He has his own gardening spot on WIN television and also has a radio program. As well as working full-time at Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE, Brian has a thriving horticulture business, Wattletree Horticultural Services. He also leads group tours overseas to some of the world's greatest gardens and landscape displays. He has a tour in 2009 to Japan and was overseas for Gardenfest last year, showcasing gardens in China.

An organic gardener with a passion for all plants edible, Justin Russell divides his time between garden journalism, and running Thistlebrook, his gastronomic nursery selling heritage fruit trees and other food producing plants.
Justin’s weekend “Secret Garden” column in the Toowoomba Chronicle has become a popular Saturday morning read and his quarterly articles in Highlife Downs Living showcase the best gardens from across the Darling Downs. He has written for a range of national publications including Organic Gardener, G Magazine and Burke’s Backyard.
A regular speaker at garden clubs and other events, Justin has qualifications in science, journalism and landscape design. He is a member of the Horticultural Media Association Qld (HMAQ). With his wife Kylie and three young children, Justin lives on a smallholding just outside the village of Hampton, north of Toowoomba.
